Medium: Sycamore and wenge, with a perch in cherry

Size: 145mm long

Artist: Tom Wilson

Open house: 121 Freshfield Road, Brighton, BN2 0BR

Artist Notes: The Arctic tern is one of an ongoing series of birds made from contrasting hardwoods. It's made from sycamore and wenge, and sits on a cherry perch. The wenge is reclaimed from the old restaurant floor at the National Theatre in London. The perch is shaped to allow the tern to nestle in a variety of poses.
