Freelance Fundraiser Role

 Organisational Details

Sussex Nightstop provides emergency and longer term accommodation to people at risk of homelessness. The charity was founded in 2009 as a youth homeless charity, but more recently has extended this provision to adults on a trial basis.

The service operates with a small staff team and a large volunteer base, with the volunteers providing accommodation within their family homes. We have over 50 volunteer hosts across Sussex who have supported over 300 young people.

 

Current Fundraising Platform

Sussex Nightstop’s current expenditure is in the region of £120K per annum.

The organisation’s traditional fundraising platform is based on:

Income from grant making trusts 65%

LA contracts/tenders 25%

Community Fundraising 10%

 

Fundraiser Requirements

Sussex Nightstop are looking for a freelance fundraiser to join our team on a consultancy basis providing us with up to 20 days’ work to be delivered over 2017/18. The role will involve working with the Service manager to:

  1. Get to know the organisation
  2. Expand Nightstop’s fundraising portfolio through sourcing larger fund giving bodies
  3. Write and submit an initial funding application
  4. Write and Submit further funding applications
  5. Increase Sussex Nightstop’s income by £240k over the next 3 years.

A quality review will take place after stage 3 at which point a break clause in the contract may be initiated.

 

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced fundraisers with an evidenced track record of successful fundraising through grant applications and a familiarity with fundraising in this sector.

Applications will be assessed on approach outlined and evidence of fundraising success in the sector alongside value for money. A daily rate to be agreed.
