Last Monday saw the launch of the new Make Change Count campaign, which we’re very excited to be a part of.

This summer five local charities, Brighton Housing Trust, Equinox, Nightstop, Pavilions, St Mungo’s and Antifreeze, are highlighting the practical support available all year round in the city and how best to help rough sleepers. The campaign is supported by Brighton & Hove City Council and Sussex Police. The best way to ensure that that your money helps people who are rough sleeping is by giving to local charities. Charities have outreach workers who will go out and ensure those who are sleeping rough are given the support they need.

At the campaign’s launch on Monday our manager Pippa was one of several representatives from charities involved to be interviewed by ITV, which you can watch here. We’re hoping to highlight the particular vulnerabilities of young people sleeping rough, and how this can best be prevented.

If you would like to support the campaign, you can donate by texting UMCC17 £3 to 70070 or by visiting the justgiving page
